As of tomorrow (Monday September 5th) My brand new album "One Day" will be officially released! I am so excited to show people what I have been working on all of 2011 so far! :) This CD is special too, because not only did I get to have my good friend RJ Pigott drum for me on 4 tracks, Daniel Pedlow my other friend help me out on bass and some mixing, but my best friend Hayley Trachsel helped write one of the songs and features in it! The song is Track 3, called "Edge Of Reality" which we co-wrote 6 years ago, and I produced it for my album with Hayley and I singing it the way we always have. I am so excited to share this with her, because I believe in her so much and I love her to death. She is always there for me and I want her to know how amazing she is at everything she puts her mind too. My CD will also be available on many online stores in a few weeks, so that you can purchase it, or just download the songs you like! Make sure you check out Edge Of Reality!

You may be wondering why I seem so excited. It's not a big deal. No, it's a mighty HUGE deal! This album is coming out ladies and gentlemen! Get yourself ready, because the official release of my 4th independent album "One Day" will be Monday, September 5th, 2011! Yes, you heard me right. In 5 days! SO EXCITED. And Yes, the album is called "One Day". I wrote a title track after I decided on the name for the album, and recorded it the same day I wrote it, which I thought was pretty cool. :P So if you want to be a part of the release, check out the Upcoming Shows section for information on Saanich Fair 2011, and you can see my perform and promote my new album and be one of the first to have a copy of "Rebecca Boux: One Day". :)

I hope you're wearing socks when you get your hands on my new album. THEY'LL BE KNOCKED OFF. Well, maybe not. But, I love it, and I am so proud of what I have accomplished. But I couldn't have done it without the people around me who constantly lend their time and hands to help me out, and God for giving me the strength and drive to keep going when all I feel like doing is giving up.

First and foremost, thank you Lord, for you give me the courage to keep going, even when it feels like all forces are against me. You make me who I am, you give me strength, and help me to believe in myself when I can't do it on my own. Thank you to Daniel Pedlow, my bassist who has not only done sound for me on many occasions, but also donated his time and energy to helping me mix tracks for my album, and rehearsing for the Saanich Fair 2011. Thank you to RJ Pigott for being a good friend and my drummer. Without you, My songs would sound pretty... well. You know. :P And thank you to my friends and family for the constant support. But especially my best friends Hayley and Kimmy. Without you guys i'm sure i'd go crazy! <3 You never stop believing in me, not just with my music but with everything. I love you! Thank you to my manager David Gallant, who has been with me for 9 years and counting! Always there for me, and I know he always will be! Has done so much to help me and I couldn't be more greatful. And thank you to my dad (Kim Boux), for lending me the studio when it is available, and your time, even when you're doing nightshifts at work! We're not perfect, but then again, we're not supposed to me. 

I hope you all have as much fun listening to this album as I did making it. :)

Lots of summer shows coming up! I will be adding them to the shows section asap, so you can see when they are, where they are, and if you can make it to any of them! I hope to see lots of people when they come around. :) 

It's true! I am releasing my 4th independent album this summer! I am not totally sure yet, but it will have somewhere between 8 to 10 songs. (So it may be an EP) I am so excited! It will be great. I am releasing the single for the album very soon titled "Time Travler". For more information on the CD and upcoming shows, check out the "In Touch" section in the drop down menu under "News". :)

  I recently recorded some backup vocals for a local singer-songwriter like myself. He's an incredible vocalist, guitar player and has a real way with words. Christian goes out of his way to help me get exposure, even though it's not his job. He invites me along to gigs and, in this case, he brought me into a real, professional recording studio here in Victoria, where Adam Sutherland (Armchair Cynics) was producing his album! Christian had me do backup vocals on one of my favourite songs of his titled "Takin' It Slow" which he wrote for his wife.
